UUCM Vision Statement

Chalice_WaterCommunionVision Statement

This Vision Statement was prepared by the Visioning Team in the spring of 2015.  It was approved by the Board of Trustees and by the entire congregation at the Annual Meeting in May 2015.

We are a vibrant community where people of all ages and life experiences feel connected, inspired, and engaged.

Areas of Focus:

  • Further strengthen and grow our Religious Exploration program.
  • Develop a stronger young adult program.
  • Provide a wider variety of meaningful worship opportunities.
  • Provide opportunities for members of all ages to participate in service projects on multiple levels.

We invest in the potential of UUCM to transform our community and our world toward more love, justice, and peace.

Areas of Focus:

  • Be financially secure through generous, sustainable member pledges of money, time and resources.
  • Support a capital campaign to fully fund necessary building updates.
  • Be financially transparent.

We build our community as a center for spiritual exploration, social justice, and intellectual engagement, and maintain our reputation as a welcoming community.

Areas of Focus:

  • Work with others from diverse faiths.
  • Learn, use, and stay current with social media and other communication methods.
  • Improve our welcoming of visitors and newcomers.

Come in. Come into this place which we make holy by our presence.

Come in with all your vulnerabilities and strengths, fears and anxieties, loves and hopes. For here you need not hide, nor pretend, nor be anything other than who you are and are called to be.

Come into this place where we can touch and be touched, heal and be healed, forgive and be forgiven.

Come into this place, where the ordinary is sanctified, the human is celebrated, the compassionate is expected.

Come into this place. Together we make it a holy place.

This invocation, Come into this place, was written by Rebecca Edmiston-Lange, and reflects our desire to build a welcoming, inviting and socially-conscious community.

We’re excited that you found your way to our web site and hope you will continue on your journey and find your way into our sanctuary. We are a community of all ages, histories, identities, gifts, and challenges. Please join us as we reach for a better tomorrow. We look forward to meeting you!

Our community gathers for many events and activities throughout the week but our primary gathering takes place on Sunday morning at 10:30 am. There you will be welcomed into an hour-long worship service that includes a time for gathering, a time for prayerful or meditative reflection, a time for a central message from the pulpit, and some fabulous music.

If you would like to talk to me, please call the office at 781-631-1215.
